AI Content Policy

The Global Journal of Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences (GJMPS) recognizes the growing use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies in scientific research and manuscript preparation. The journal supports the responsible, transparent, and ethical use of AI tools while maintaining the integrity, originality, and accountability of scholarly publishing.

Authors using AI-assisted technologies must ensure that all submitted work remains scientifically accurate, ethically compliant, and fully attributable to human authors.

Permitted Use of AI Tools

Authors may use AI-based tools for supportive purposes such as:

  • language editing

  • grammar correction

  • spelling improvement

  • formatting assistance

  • reference organization

  • technical writing support

The use of AI should not compromise the originality, accuracy, or scientific integrity of the manuscript.

Prohibited Use of AI

AI tools must not be used to:

  • fabricate or manipulate research data

  • generate false scientific findings

  • create misleading images or figures

  • produce fraudulent references or citations

  • conduct unethical data analysis

  • replace genuine scientific interpretation or human accountability

Any misuse of AI technologies may be considered research misconduct.

AI and Authorship

Artificial Intelligence systems, chatbots, or machine-learning tools cannot be listed as authors or co-authors of a manuscript.

AI tools:

  • cannot assume responsibility for scientific content

  • cannot approve manuscript submissions

  • cannot take accountability for research integrity

  • cannot fulfill authorship criteria

All responsibility for the manuscript remains solely with the human authors.

Disclosure of AI Use

Authors must clearly disclose any significant use of AI tools within the manuscript, including:

  • the name of the AI tool used

  • the purpose of use

  • the extent of AI assistance

Examples of significant AI usage may include:

  • AI-assisted writing

  • AI-generated images or graphics

  • AI-supported data analysis

  • automated content generation

Minor uses such as spelling or grammar correction generally do not require disclosure unless substantial content generation occurred.

Accuracy and Verification

Authors are fully responsible for verifying:

  • factual accuracy

  • scientific validity

  • originality

  • citation accuracy

  • ethical compliance

of all content produced or assisted by AI tools.

The journal strongly advises authors to carefully review AI-generated content for:

  • hallucinated references

  • inaccurate scientific claims

  • misleading interpretations

  • plagiarism risks

Editorial and Reviewer Use of AI

Editors and reviewers must maintain confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and should not upload confidential manuscript content into public AI systems or platforms that may compromise data security or intellectual property.

Any use of AI during editorial assessment or peer review must comply with confidentiality and ethical publishing standards.

Research Integrity and Ethical Compliance

The journal reserves the right to investigate undisclosed or unethical use of AI technologies during manuscript preparation or publication.

Failure to appropriately disclose significant AI usage or misuse of AI tools may result in:

  • manuscript rejection

  • publication correction

  • article retraction

  • additional editorial action where necessary

Commitment to Responsible AI Use

GJMPS supports innovation and technological advancement while maintaining strong commitments to:

  • publication ethics

  • research integrity

  • transparency

  • scientific accountability

  • responsible scholarly communication

Authors are encouraged to use AI technologies responsibly and ethically in accordance with international publishing standards and best practices.
